Punjab Grill is a north indian cuisine restaurant located at Kala Ghoda, Mumbai.

Luxuriously done up, it’s the brands fifth outlet after its successful stint at Lower Parel, Kurla, Andheri and Ghatkopar.

The new outlet has a new menu which focuses on home style cooking and dominance has been given to seafood.

It’s menu is a interesting mix of shorbas, tandoori delicacies, curries, lentils, biryani, indian breads and sweets.

So here is what I had –

SOUP :-

KUMBH PUDHINA SHORBA –
Wild mushroom broth, flavoured with mint.
Served with butter kulcha and garnished with micro greens.
The soup had a nice earthy flavour and even had pieces of shimeji mushrooms, tasted delicious.

APPETIZERS :-

TANDOORI LOBSTER –
Lobster meat marinated with lime juice and black pepper, cooked in tandoor.
Drizzled with cream cheese sauce.
The cheese sauce is a mix of cream, cheddar cheese and garlic.

SALMON TIKKA –
Norwegian salmon marinated in yogurt with dill leaves and yellow chilli, grilled to perfection.

TANDOORI JHEENGA –
Jumbo prawns marinated in yogurt and yellow chilli, grilled to perfection
Served with lemon wedges and onion laccha.

TAWA SCALLOPS –
Pan seared scallops, drizelled with seafood broth, served on a bed on sauteed onions and tomatoes.

MAHI TIKKA –
Sea bass fish fillet marinated in yogurt with cumin and mustard, grilled to perfection.

All the seafood appetizers were extremely delicious, they had a mild subtle seasoning and cooked perfectly.
The natural sweet flavour of seafood was intact.
I highly recommend their tandoori lobster as the creamy cheese sauce really elevated it’s flavour.

MAINS :-

MACHHI TARIWALI –
Rawas fish fillet simmered in a onion tomato gravy with fish stock.
Absolutely delicious, the fish curry had a thin consistently and had a fabulous flavour of curry leaves.

AMBARSARI MALAI KOFTE –
Cottege cheese dumplings simmered in cashew paste gravy with khoya, green chillies and dry fruits.
Creamy but not heavy, nice flavour of cardamom, tasted delicious with steamed rice.

DESSERTS :-

– KALAKAND
– KHEER
– SHAHI TUKDA

All the three desserts were nice, they were freshly made and it was the perfect way to end my meal.
I seriously liked their cardamom flavoured chilled kheer alot.

Overall, My experience at Punjab Grill was Fantastic !!
Right from it’s beautiful ambiance, delicious food and impeccable service, everything was spot on.
Their innovative new way to cook punjabi food using less grease really works.
