Beautifully done up and spacious, Jlwa serves european and experimental indian cuisine.
It’s food takes inspiration from regional indian cuisines and showcases it in the most modern way possible !
The food menu is a interesting mix of soup, salads, bar nibbles, appetizers, mains and desserts.
Jlwa is sober during the day and turns into a party place at night.
So here is what I had –
WILD MUSHROOM –
Shitake mushroom soup with fried button mushrooms.
Served with grilled paprika croutons and drizelled with truffle oil.
Mushrooms and truffle oil !
What can I say, it’s the perfect combination and you just can’t get bored of having it.
Here i even loved the butter soaked croutons , easy on the palate, full of flavour.
BARLEY & QUINOA –
Kale and quinoa salad with orange and beetroots, dressed in a lemon and roasted bell pepper dressing.
Kale has a pungent flavour but the citrucy bell pepper dressing worked so beautifully that the salad tasted delicious. Wow !
JACK DANIEL PRAWNS –
Juicy prawns tossed with cream, butter and garlic, flambeed in whiskey, served with house salad and kadak rumali.
The prawns were succulent and the seasoning of fresh herbs was brilliant !
LIME CHILLI SQUID –
Overnight milk soaked calamari, deep fried to perfection. Dusted with chilli lime and served with garlic aioli.
The squids were crispy and not at all chewy, the seasoning was perfect and tasted delicious with the accompanied aioli.
GREEK STYLE CHICKEN KEBAB –
Minced chicken chunks marinated with middle eastern spices , grilled to perfection.
Served with hummus, pita bread and taziki.
The seekh kebabs were nice and juicy, it had a nice flavour of zattar spices.
MUSHROOM SPRING ROLLS –
Thin rolls stuffed with chilli sauteed mushrooms, deep fried to perfection.
Served with house slaw and chilli bean dip.
The mushrooms went really well in the spring rolls, the accompanied fermented soya bean and ketchup dip was equally nice.
MAIN COURSE :-
METHI MALAI POT –
A classic methi malai paneer served with cashew pulav.
Soft malai paneer was used in the preparation, it had a beautiful flavour of cardamom.
Even the accompanied pulav had a aroma of whole spices, tasted absolutely delicious.
CLASSIC BROWNIE –
Chocolate brownie toppen with hazelnut mousse, garnished with crushed cookies and white chocolate pebbles.
Absolutely delicious, a chocolate lovers favorite !
Overall I had a great time !
