Lady Baga is a goan cuisine restaurant located at Kamla Mills, Mumbai.

The restaurant gives you a goan shack like feel with it’s colourful decor, laser graffiti and chilled out atmosphere.

The food menu offers the best of goan cuisine, it includes appetizers, mains and desserts.

Goan food has a portuguese influence and a dominance of seafood, Lady Baga incorporates that in the menu with some signature portuguese delicacies and fresh catch of the day section.

Even their bar menu has a goan vibe, it offers a interesting mix of fresh citrucy cocktails.

So here is what i had –

COCKTAILS :-

WE LIKE BIG COCONUT –
Vodka based cocktail made with coconut water/litchi/lime and mint.
Absolutely refreshing, the cocktail had a natural sweetness of litchi and citrucy zing of lime.

SALADS :-

KALE & QUINOA –
Kale and quinoa salad made with strawberries/carrots and pimento, garnished with granola crumbs, dressed in a honey lemon dressing.
Wow ! The kale leaves were absolutely fresh, granola gave a hint of sweetness and crunch, loved it !

APPETIZERS :-

BUTTER GARLIC PRAWNS –
Prawns tossed in butter with lots of garlic, finished with a squeeze of lemon.
Absolutely delicious, it’s a classic….well made, can’t go wrong !

SQUID CHILLI FRY –
Calamari, green chillies and capsicum tossed with garlic, red chilli paste and goan spices.
The calamari were fresh and had a bold sour spicy flavour, Must try !!

RAWA MASALA PRAWNS –
Prawns marinated in goan spices, coated with semolina, deep fried to perfection.
The prawns were juicy and the outer crust was crispy, tasted delicious with the accompanied mayo dip.

CHICKEN GUISADO –
Chicken leg tossed with curry leaves, onion, green chillies and portuguese spices.
Sour n spicy, the chicken was juicy and had a bold profile. Nice !

VEGETABLE RISSOIS –
Crumb fried croquettes stuffed with cheese/corn/carrots/cilantro and mint.
Crispy n cheesy, the punch of goan spices was spot on !

MAINS :-

PRAWNS CURRY –
Coconut milk based goan prawns curry, served with kerela red rice, fried fish, dry prawns masala and pickle.
The traditional goan curry had lady fingers and a sour flavour coming from tamarind.
It tasted delicious with a sprinkle of kismor (dry prawn, chilli and garlic masala).

DESSERTS :-

SERRADURA –
Marie buiscut crumbs layered with condensed milk and whipped cream.
A classic portuguese preparation.
Nothing fancy but pure bliss !

Overall, Lady Baga is able to give you an goan feel with it’s ambiance and food.

I specially liked their seafood dishes as they were fresh and delicately prepared using robust goan spices.

Service was extremely courteous.
