Flyp is a Cafe by MTV, located at Kamla Mills, Mumbai.

The spacious rustic quirky cafe is a co working space during the day and it turns into a high energy bar at night.

It also hosts live performances and gigs on regular basis.

The cafes food menu is curated by celebrity chef Ranveer Brar.

Chef Brar has kept the menu focused on twisted local comfort food along with a bit of asian.

The food menu is a mix of soup, salads, appetizers, kebabs, bao, dim sums, pizza, pasta, asian pot meals, indian mains and desserts.

The bar menu has a good selection of indian imported spirits. They even offer beer on tap along with indian spices n herb infused cocktails.

So here is what i had –

COCKTAILS :-

COFFEE CONNECT –
Vodka based cocktail made with chilled expresso coffee brew and cream.
Well balanced, right amount of sweetness, smooth on the palate.

SOUP :-

KALE CAPPUCCINO –
Creamy kale soup with mushrooms, served in a cup, dusted with cocoa.
The soup was a take on a cappuccino so it had a thick topping of creamy foam.
The pungent kale flavour was balanced with earthy mushrooms and cream. Nice !!

SALAD :-

ROASTED WATERMENON –
Roasted watermenon coated with black quinoa. Served with rocket leaves/crab sticks/herb coated prawns and olive mayo.
Garnished with balsamic vinaigrette.
Wow, the salad was refreshing, it had a lot of freshness coming from the watermenon and rocket leaves.
Light balsamic vinaigrette drizzle added a lot of flavour, its sour flavour went really well.

APPETIZERS :-

PRAWNS KOLIWADA –
A classic preparation of juicy prawns marinated with koliwada spices, deep fried to perfection. Served with burnt chilli mayo.
Easy to munch, can’t go wrong !

TEEN MIRCH MALAI TIKKA –
Chicken chunks marinated with black n white peppercorns, green chillies and cream. Grilled to perfection.
Served with tomato salsa and coriander chutney.
The coarsely grounded pepper corns gave a lot of flavour and texture.
The chicken was absolutely juicy and tender, tasted extreamly delicious.

GALAUTI KEBAB –
Minced mutton kebabs, made by tenderising the meat with raw papaya and giving it a seasoning of mild indian spices.
This shallow fried, coal smoked kebabs were served on pita bread and they literally had a melt in your mouth texture, tasted insanely delicious.
Must try !!

TANDOORI DHOKLA –
Juicy dhokla given a tandoori twist, char grilled on tandoor.
Garnished with pickled veggies and curry leaf foam.
The fusion was unique and it really worked.

BLACK RICE GYOZA –
Rice flour dim sums stuffed with black rice/shitake mushrooms and tofu, steamed and pan fried to perfection.
Served with papaya relish and chilli garlic dip.
The rice flour outer was extremely thin, the filling was flavourful.
A must try at flyp.

YANGOON BAO –
Mini steamed baos stuffed with cheese and mushrooms.
Served with green apple sesame and spring onion relish.
The steamed bao were fresh and soft, mushroom and cheese combination was fabulous !

MAINS :-

CHOPPER RICE –
Stir fried rice with lots of veggies, topped with soya ginger sause and fried garlic.
Comfort food at it’s best !

DESSERTS :-

CRUNCHY CHEESECAKE –
Crushed cookies base cheesecake layered with whipped cream cheese.
Served with chocolate noodles, raspberry couli, vanilla cream and chocolate soil.
The cheesecake was eggless and had a twist of orange zest.
I would have preferred a classic !

Overall I had a fabulous time.
The energetic ambiance and groovy music sets you free !
Even their food is comforting and extremely delicious.
The one who love the zing of spices in their food will surely love it !
A fantastic option to party at Kamla !
