Juss by Sindhful is a vegetarian sindhi cuisine restaurant located at Khar, Mumbai.
Cute and cosy, Juss by Sindhful serves home style sindhi food along with some contemporary fusion dishes.
Juss by sindhful is also the only restaurant that serves Sindhi Thali.
So here is what I had –
PAKWAN CHAAT –
Triangle shaped crispy pakwan topped with chole/coriander chutney/sweet chutney and onions.
Loved the twist of chole, The chaat tasted delicious.
BHEEYAN JI KI TIKKI –
Crumb fried lotus stem and potato patty, topped with crispy lotus stems.
Served with coriander chutney.
The garnishing of tangy lotus stem added crispy texture, The patty itself was flavoured with sindhi green masala, tasted delicious with the accompanied chutney.
CRISPY SWYAL –
Pav stuffed with sindhi green masala and grated cheese.
Served with fried rice papad.
It tasted like a cheese chutney sandwich with a spicy zing !
SINDHI THALI :-
A complete meal for one, it included the following –
– ROSE SHARBAT
A rose flavoured welcome drink with a twist of lime.
– ALOO TUK
A sindhi appetizer of crushed fried potatoes flavoured with Chaat masala and sindhi spices.
– SAI BHAJI
A sindhi curry made with lentil, whole spices and spinach.
– BHINDI BASAR
A dry lady finger vegetable tossed with onions.
– ALOO TAMATAR
A simple tomato curry with diced potatoes.
– BHUGA CHAWAL
Basmati rice tossed with whole spices and brown onions.
Two homely chapatis, one can even opt for puris.
– BOONDI RAITA
Cool raita with crunchy boonis.
– SEVAI KHEERNI
Indian milk pudding made with vermicelli and flavoured with cardamom.
I enjoyed the thali, I specially liked aalu tuk tuk and bhindi, even the kheer was fantastic !
Overall, Juss by Sindhful is a sincere effort to bring Sindhi cuisine to the main stream.
I’m not well accustomed with Sindhi food but what ever I had was flavourful and homely.
