Farzi Cafe is a modern indian bistro located at phoenix mills, Mumbai.

Beautifully done up, it’s the brand’s third outlet in Mumbai.

Farzi Cafe basically serves indian cuisine in a contemporary presentation. It aims to bring back your childhood memories with dishes that we have all grown up eating.

The food menu is a mix of soup, salads, appetizers, mains and desserts.

So here is what I had –

COCKTAIL : –

PLZ CHAI THIS –
Vodka and triple sec based cocktail made with cinnamon infused black tea/lime juice and peach syrup.
Served on a earthen pot, smooth and refreshing at the same time !

SOUP :-

CREAM CORN CHOWDER –
Thick corn soup with corn fritters/sweet corn kernels and micro greens.
One gets a homely rustic feeling in this soup, full of flavour, Nice !!

SALAD :-

ALOO BHUKARA KALE –
Plum/kale/green apples/pomegranate and goat cheese dressed in a cranberry dressing.
Garnished with almonds.
It’s a fresh citrusy salad, green apples give a nice crunch !

APPETIZERS :-

TEMPURA FRIED PRAWNS –
Batter fried prawns, tossed with sriracha chilli sauce and mayo.
Garnished with chilli lemon foam.
Extremely delicious, the prawns were crunchy and juicy, the lemon chilli foam really had the typical sour spicy flavour !

AMRITSARI FISH –
Rawas marinated with north indian spices, crumb fried to perfection.
Served with potato wafers and desi ghee hollandaise sauce.
The fish had a spicy zesty marination, it’s crunchy texture was beautifully complimented with the accompanied creamy hollandaise sauce !

GRILLED CHERMOULA PRAWNS –
Prawns marinated with chermoula marinate, grilled to perfection.
Served on a bed of roasted tomato chutney.
The prawns had a nice coriander cumin flavour, tasted delicious !

BLACK SESAME CHICKEN TIKKA –
Chicken chunks marinated with black sesame ash, grilled to perfection.
Served with cool mayo dip .
The tikka looks jet black but it’s tender and juicy inside, Nice !!

RATATOUILLE GUJIA –
Gujia stuffed with tomato and herb tossed veggies, deep fried to perfection.
Served with sweet chilli sauce.
The veggies had a beautiful flavour of oregano and pepper, contrasting thai sweet chilli sauce as a accompaniment worked well.

KACHCHHI DABELI –
Dabeli made in a steamed bun with peanut butter sauce.
One gets to enjoy the dabeli without the chewy pao, Really nice !

MAINS :-

GOAN PRAWNS CURRY –
Prawns simmered in a coconut milk curry with tamarind and red chilli paste.
Served with coconut rice and onion laccha.
Soothing and comforting food at it’s best, the spicy red chillies were beautifully balanced with freshly extracted creamy coconut milk in the goan curry. Loved it !!

SEARED POMFRET HIRWA MASALA –
Pan seared pomfret fillet served with coriander coconut curry and ragi roti.
A fish lovers favourite, the pomfret fillet was absolutely delicious, even the maharashtrian hirwa masala curry made with coconut, coriander and green chillies was equally amazing.

DESSERTS :-

FLOURLESS CHOCOLATE BAR –
Warm dark chocolate cake served with fresh fruits and tutty fruity ice cream.
Absolutely delicious, warm gooey chocolate cake with fresh fruit ice cream was a match made in heaven.

Overall, Farzi Cafe is a go-to place if a casual indian inspired meal is in your mind, the food is delicious, service is quick and ambiance is esthetic.
