Summer Garden is a all day cafe located at Powai, Mumbai.

The open air cafe has a calm soothing ambience, it’s created using bamboo stick walls, jute fabric ceiling and lots of plants.

Summer garden serves global favourites from around the world, It includes a fair dose of healthy eats as well.

Fresh organic ingredients are used in the making.

The food menu comprises of breakfast staples, eggs to order, smoothies, cold pressed juices, salad, sandwiches, burgers, appetizers, mains and desserts.

They also have a separate menu for luxury teas.

So here is what I had –

SMOOTHIES :-

PROTEIN POWER –
Yogurt based smoothie with almonds/dates/raspberry/banana and spirulina.
Thick consistency, right balance of flavours !

SHAKES :-

EPIC –
Milk based shake made with raw cocoa powder and figs.
Very nice, no sugar was added to the shake, natural sweetness of figs made up for it.

SALADS :-

GLORIOUS CALAMARI –
Roccula leaves/lettuce/olives/sun dried tomatoes and calamari rings dressed in a kewpie dressing.
The calamari rings were spicy and crunchy, olives and sun dried tomatoes gave it’s sour flavour, japanese sesame dressing bought the salad together.

APPETIZERS :-

SUMMER GARDEN FRIRS –
Sweet potato cube fries tossed with rosemary and garlic.
Served with lemon aioli .
Easy to pop, crispy gooey texture…Nice !

TEMPURA SHRIMPS –
Tempura batter fried juicy prawns.
Served with asian dipping sauce.
Nice airy crspy texture, tasted delicious.

FISH CAKES –
Red snapper fish cakes, served with black rice/tabbouleh and lemon aioli.
The fish cakes had a crispy outer, they were mildly spiced, tasted nice with the mayo dipping sauce.

MUSHROOM CIGARS –
Phyllo cigars stuffed with sauteed mushrooms, baked to perfection.
Served with honey mustard dipping sauce.
The phyllo cigars had a melt in your mouth texture, tasted delicious with mustard flavoured dipping sauce.

MAINS :-

CURRIED CHICKEN STEW –
Chicken cubes simmered coconut milk curry.
Served with mushroom tossed red rice.
The stew had a dominant flavour of curry leaves/cinnamon and green cardamom, pretty unusual, It was very much on the healthier side !

DESSERTS :-

BAKLAVA –
Phyllo pastry puff layered with nuts, drizzled with honey.
Garnished with edible flowers and pistacios.
Really nice, phyllo pastry was flaky and loaded with nuts.

Overall, Summer Garden has struck the right balance….
Their comfort food is fresh n flavourful.
Smoothies and shakes are really nice.
They have used the right ingredients, combinations and cooking techniques to create a wholesome experience.
