Gateway Taproom is a brewpub located at Bandra Kurla Complex, Mumbai.

The spacious rustic ambiance pub is a flagship venture of Gateway Brewing Company.

Gateway Brewing was the first packaging brewery of Mumbai and now it’s craft beer is served at over eighty locations in Mumbai and Pune.

The famous white zen, german style craft beer belongs to gateway brewing company.

The Gateway Taproom offers their signature creations on tap along with experimental brews, exclusive to the location.

The food menu at gateway taproom is a mix of european cuisine where beer is used as an ingredient in many of their dishes.

The menu offers soup, salads, appetizers, flatbread, mains and desserts.

So here is what I had –

BEER :-

There are over nine beers on tap.
Three are their signature (white zen, doppelganger and side car) and six are experimental.
I really liked their –

– DOPPELGANGER
Fruity flavour with a caramel after taste.

– SIDE CAR 
Apple cider made kashmiri apples.

They are surely the best craft beers in town !

SALAD :-

CHUNKY GREEK –
Cucumbers/tomatoes/onions and rocket leaves tossed in a lime vinaigrette dressing.
Garnished with feta cheese.
Extremely fresh, chunchy veggies…super light !
The use of greek feta cheese made it really delicious !

BEER BATTER FRIED CALAMARI –
Crispy and airy, beer batter fried squids were a delight to have with the accompanied tomato salsa and green chilli jalapeno dipping sauce.

HOMEMADE KHARI –
Khari biscuits layered with cheddar cheese and chillies.
Flaky cheesy blissful !!

SHRIMP TORTELLINI –
Freshly made tortellini pasta stuffed with minced prawns then tossed in a creamy luscious umami sauce.
Garnished with chives.
Umami is considered as the fifth flavour, It tastes like brothy…. rich stock flavour to the palate…..
It’s made using prawns broth, butter, flour, coriander and black pepper.
I seriously loved it !!!
It’s surely a must try dish at gateway taproom !! Truly impressive !

CHICKEN WINGS –
Batter fried chicken winglets tossed in spicy green chilli sauce.
Garnished with barbeque sauce.
The chilli sauce had a beautiful flavour of jalapenos and green chillies.
Tasted really nice !

MAINS :-

MAC & CHEESE –
Macaroni pasta tossed in a creamy cheesy cheddar sauce.
The mac & cheese had a twist of garam masala. Tasted quite different !

MALT GLAZED SALMON –
Grilled salmon fillet, glazed with doppelganger beer malt and mushroom stock.
Served with mustard potato salad.
The glaze was mild, it did not over power the natural flavour of the fish.
Cool creamy potato salad was extremely comforting.

DESSERTS :-

FINANCIER –
Moist cake made with flour, poppy seeds and almonds.
Drizelled with doppelganger beer reduction.
Served with almond ice cream.
Extremely delicious, the almonds cake and the ice cream really complimented each other really well ….loved it !

BEER-A-MISU –
Sponge cake layered with cream, flavoured with kappi stout beer and garnished with cocoa powder.
A perfect dessert for beer lovers !
Super strong n punchy coffee beer flavour !

Overall, I had a great time !
It was amazing to savour their signature delicacies.
The chef has beautifully incorporated beer in his creations, it adds an extra zing to the dishes without diluting it’s identity.
