China Bistro is a Pan Asian restaurant located at Dadar, Mumbai.
The five year old brand also has outlets in Worli, Chembur and Thane.
It specializes in South East Asian cuisine where one gets to savour flavours delicacies from Thailand, China, Korea, Japan, Vietnam, Malaysia and Hong Kong.
The restaurant also has a elaborate bar that offers indian imported spirits and cocktails.
One also gets an option of fixed menu lunch on weekdays.
So here is what I had –
APPLE BASIL MARTINI –
Apple juice muddled with green apples and basil.
APRICOT ORANGE BLOSSOM –
Vanilla ice cream slush made with apricot and orange.
Both the mocktails were refreshing, i preferred the light basil flavoured apple martini.
TOM KHA –
Thai coconut milk broth soup made with broccoli and mushrooms.
Beautifully flavoured with kaffir lime and ganangal.
Absolutely delicious, the hint and twist of white pepper made the real difference.
EIGHT TREASURE –
Sweet corn soup with eight variety of added veggies and chicken.
Extremely different, a pleasant change from the regular sweet corn soup.
The coriander flavour with added chilli vinager made the soup burst with flavours !!
SOM TAM –
Thai raw papaya salad made with cherry tomatoes/french beans/palm sugar/bird eye chillies and crushed peanuts.
A well made somtam, sweet sour spicy !!
Thin rice flour outer coating, generous amount of flavourful fillings.

Accompanied with black pepper scallion dip and fragrant chilli sauce.
Each and every dimsum has a distant flavour and filling.
Absolutely fresh crunchy veggies and juicy meat.
It was a delight to have them with the star anice and cinnamon flavoured chilli garlic dipping sauce.
CRISPY CORN CHILLI PEPPER –
Batter fried corn kernals with onions and chillies.
Everyone’s favorite, perfectly crunchy corn, light garlic pepper seasoning !!
FIRE ROASTED MANDARIN CHICKEN –
Chicken chunks marinated overnight with asian sauces and herbs, batter fried and then tossed with soya/chillies and garlic.
Finally given a whiskey flambe.
Served on skewers over coal grill.
The chicken was absolutely delicious, smokey spicy flavour at it’s best !
A must try at china bistro.
CRISPY LOTUS STEMS –
Batter fried lotus stems tossed with black pepper/curry leaves and honey.
Super crunchy, black pepper and curry leaves worked well together.
PRAWNS IN HOT BASIL SAUCE –
Batter fried prawns and onions tossed in a basil chill garlic sauce.
The sauce was spicy but it had a hint of sweetness, tasted extremely delicious.
BURNT GARLIC FRIED RICE –
Wok tossed fried rice with sweet corn kernels/french beans and carrots.
Flavoured with golden fried garlic, went really well with hot basil sauce.
CHOCOLATE TSUNAMI –
Chocolate mousse stuffed with nuts, drizelled with chocolate sauce.
A chocolate lovers favorite !
THAI GUAVA ICE CREAM –
Guava flavoured kulfi, sprinkled with chilli powder.
Well balanced, right amount of sweetness.
Loved it !
Overall, I had a wonderful time savouring their pan asian delicacies.
The food was fresh, flavours were bang on and they were specially made to suit the Indian palate.
Even their ambiance was warm and inviting.
Courteous service added to the comfort !
