Jamjar is a all day diner located at Bandra, Mumbai.

This is Jamjar’s second outlet after completing five successful years in versova.

For those of you who are not aware, Jamjar is a fun laid-back yet trendy diner that serves comfort food paired with groovy drinks.

The Bandra outlet has a well lit colourful vibrant ambiance.

They have a elaborate food menu that covers breakfast, lunch, high tea and dinner.

The cuisine is mostly european with a bit of american and mexican as well.

Their bar menu is a interesting mix of fruit based cocktails and classic concoctions.

Their in house bakery also sells a variety of breads over the counter.

So here is what I had –

BREAKFAST :-
Jamjar serves some amazing options in breakfast and it’s available till evening.
Here is what I tried –

– EGG KEJRIWAL
Fried eggs laid over soft buns with green chillies/cilantro and cheese.
Garnished with micro greens.
Served with skin on potato wedges.
Eggs, salty amul cheese and zesty green chillies is a fabulous combination, the kejriwal tasted absolutely delicious !!

– TRUFFLE SCENTED AKURI
Scrambled eggs topped with mushroom dust and truffle oil.
Served with focaccia bread.
The scrambled eggs were made with a dash of milk, the aroma of truffle oil elevated the humble eggs !

– PANCAKES
A stack of three pancakes layered with chocolate chips and berry compote.
Dusted with icing sugar.
Soft fluffy pancakes tasted delicious with the sour berry compote, chocolate chips added texture in the flavour.

GRANDMOM’S SPECIAL COLD COFFEE –
Expoesso coffee shots blended with ice and coconut milk, topped with chia seeds.
Wow ! This was really nice, I never knew coconut milk can go so well with coffee !?
Right amount of sweetness and bubbly chia seeds added to the magic !

SMOOTHIES :-

SUPER GREEN –
Kale/spinach/pineapple and spirulina blended with yogurt.
Jamjar offers some of the best smoothies you can get in town, well balanced n healthy. super green was fantastic balance of bitter kale and spinach with sweet and sour pineapple.

SOUP :-

CRAB CAPPUCCINO –
Crab broth soup topped with milk froth, served with parmesan cookie.
Extremely delicious, the soothing seafood flavour was intact, milk froth added richness but did not dilute the crab flavour.

SALAD :-

GRILLED CHICKEN & QUINOA –
Spinach/grilled chicken/quinoa/orange and apple salad tossed in a tahini dressing.
Garnished with roasted almonds.
A well made healthy salad with a light tahini dressing, roasted almonds added crunch and fruits added a hint of natural sweetness.

APPETIZERS :-

TRUFFLE GARLIC PRAWNS PIL PIL –
Prawns tossed in olive oil with loads of thinly sliced garlic.
Served with mini pao.
The prawns are served piping hot, it’s a classic combination of garlic and olive oil, a lemon squeeze elevates the flavour even more !!

MAINS :-

RATATOUILLE STUFFED CHICKEN –
Chicken breast stuffed with veggies, grilled to perfection.
Served with butter caper sauce/cauilflower puree and broccoli salad.
The chicken was juicy, stuffed veggies were perfectly flavoured with garlic and basil.
The broccoli salad had a topping of caramelized onions and pine nuts.
Butter caper added richness and tang.
A fantastic chicken main course dish to order !

DESSERTS :-

PROFITEROLE –
French choux pastry balls stuffed with coconut ice cream and topped with chocolate sauce.
Extremely delicious, if you are a fan of coconut ice cream, this dessert is a must try !

Overall, I love jamjar for their relatively healthy food and relaxed atmosphere…..
A bang on location with courteous service adds to the experience.
