Bandra Project is a all day bar and restaurant located at Pali Hill, Mumbai.
The spacious restaurant calls itself a ‘community bar & kitchen’, it’s owned by Pizza Express.
It’s food and ambiance is influenced by it’s surroundings….groovy music, energetic vibe and refreshing menu.
The all day menu is vast, the open kitchen serves breakfast favorites, burger, sandwiches, salads, pizza, pasta, appetizers, mains and desserts.
It’s mostly european cuisine with a bit of local flavours.
The bar menu is a interesting mix of indian-imported spirits and quirky cocktails.
So here is what I had –
EXPRESSO MARTINI –
Vodka based cocktail made with expresso coffee shot and cream.
Strong and punchy !!
PORCHED PEAR & BLUE CHEESE –
Pears porched in red wine reduction then tossed with arugula/pine nuts and blue cheese.
The salad had the perfect balance of flavours.
Pears gave it’s sweetness, blue cheese gave it’s sharp pungent flavour and pine nuts gave the much needed crunch.
Loved it !
PRAWNS IN BOTTLE MASALA –
Prawns marinated in east indian spices then pan toseed with cream/broccoli and green peas.
The prawns were perfectly cooked, the rich creamy texture of the sauce with mild subtle indian flavours made them extremely delicious.
RAMIRO AL FORNO –
Bell peppers stuffed with herb sauteed mushrooms and goat cheese, baked to perfection.
Glazed with balsamic vinaigrette and served with house salad.
Mushrooms and goat cheese went really well together, fantastic !
CHICKEN WINGS –
Chicken winglets marinated with garlic and hot spice mix, baked to perfection then tossed in a tangy homemade barbeque sauce.
Served with honey mustard dip.
Smokey spicy tangy sticky winglets tasted super delicious !
PRAWNS POTATO CHOP –
Prawns flavoured with east indian spices then stuffed in crumbed potato patty, grilled to perfection.
Drizzled with coriander pesto sauce.
The potato patty had a crispy outer and it tasted really nice with the fresh coriander drizzle !
The pizzas are hand tossed using freshly made dough, san morzano italian tomatoes are used to make the pizza sauce.
MARGHERITA WITH BUFFALO –
Thin crust pizza topped with buffalo mozzarella/basil/oregano/cherry tomatoes and olive oil.
An italian classic, fresh torn buffalo mozzarella….can’t go wrong with this !
Thin crust pizza topped with mozzarella cheese/caramelized onions/spinach/onions and garlic oil.
Fabulous flavour of garlic with hint of sweetness coming from the caramelized onions….lovely !!
LARGE PLATES –
PISTA CRUSTED SALMON –
Pistachio crusted salmon fillet, baked to perfection.
Served on a bed of wild rice and tzatziki.
The salmon fillet was perfectly baked with the skin on, nuts added a crunchy texture without diluting the natural flavour of the fish……
An extremely healthy option !
PICK ME UP –
A perfectly made tiramisu with airy mascarpone cheese, coffee soaked sponge, cocoa and baileys liquier.
Simply irresistible !!
Overall, I had a great time….
I really enjoyed their staple italian classics !
The flavours were spot on, even the dishes that had an indian influence were delicious !
Knowledgeable staff and courteous service added to the splendid experience.
