The iconic fifty year old restaurant depicts the cultural heritage of mumbai.

image

It serves North West Frontier cuisine in a chic rustic ambiance.

image

The cuisine ranges from Afghanistan, Pakistan and Punjab.

The food menu offers a variety of vegetarian and non vegetarian shorbas, kababs, curries, biryani and indian desserts.

The food is cooked using aromatic whole spices and traditional slow cooking techniques.

So here is what I had –

SOUP :-

image

CHUZE KA SHORBA –
Soup made with chicken broth and shredded chicken.
Fabulous chicken stock and coriander flavour.

APPETIZERS :-

PRAWNS KABAB –
Prawns marinated with papaya/red chillies/ginger and garlic, tossed on tawa.
The prawns were absolutely fresh, flavouring was spot on, it complimented the prawns beautifully.
Even the squids with the same marination taste equally delicious.

image

CHICKEN RESHMI KABAB –
Chicken chunks marinated in yogurt and cream, grilled on tandoor.
Soft silky chicken kababs, very mild in spices.

image

MAKAI KI TIKKI –
Sweet corn and potato patty, deep fried to perfection.
Flavoured with cumin/green chillies and coriander.
The crispy patty tasted delicious with the coriendar chutney.

KALI MIRCH RAWAS –
Indian salmon marinated with yogurt and freshly ground pepper, grilled on tandoor.
Absolutely delicious, the fish literally melts in your mouth, black pepper and cream marination worked in harmony with the natural flavour of the fish.

MAINS :-

CHICKEN TIKKA MASALA –
Chicken tikka tossed with onions and green chillies in a tangy spicy tomato gravy.
Garnished with fried ginger.
A rustic preparation, whole spices and ginger flavour was dominant, Nice !!

DESSERTS :-

image

PAAN KULFI –
A delicious kulfi made with paan puree and malai.

image

CHOCOLATE BOMB –
Chocolate ball filled with mousse, garnished with whipped cream.
Served with vanilla ice cream.
Chocolate lovers favorite, perfect ending !

Overall, I loved their food 🙂
They have stuck to the roots, cooking style and presentation is old school.
Each and every dish has a distant flavour profile.
Spice levels are balanced beautifully.
Khyber is truly a treat for your palate !
Service is warm and courteous.

Go try indulge !
