The restaurant has a beautiful chic ambiance with a mesmerising view of the arabian sea.
It serves modern australian cuisine, which is an amalgamation of european and asian flavours, presentation is given close attention.
The food menu has a prominence of seafood but there are ample of chicken, lamb and vegetarian dishes as well.
One can notice from their menu that most of the ingredients including the meats are imported from their origin.
So here is what I had –
THE SCARLET –
Vodka based cocktail with vanilla liquier/ watermelon chunks/lemon and sprite.
Extremely smooth, fabulous flavour of watermelon with a after taste of vanilla.
SMASHED AVOCADO & JALAPENO –
Roasted pumpkin and chickpea falafel, topped with guacamole and garnished with quinoa crisps and micro greens.
The roasted pumpkin seeds gave a beautiful texture to the falafel, it tasted delicious with the creamy avocado guacamole.
MUSHROOM QUINOA & TOFU PATTIES –
Pan seared patties made of minced tofu/mushroom and quinoa, topped with wasabi onion jam and feta crumbs.
Garnished with roasted pine nuts.
Served with house salad.
The patty had a kick of wasabi and a sweetness of caramelized onions.
The tricky japanese wasabi flavour was smartly incorporated !!
CHICKEN & ZUCCHINI SKEWERS –
Chicken marinated with zaatar spice/cream and almond paste then grilled on skewers with zucchini/broccoli and bell peppers.
Topped with caesar dressing.
Served with pickled blue onions and parmesan dipping sauce.
The chicken was juicy…mildly spiced, it tasted nice with the sharp parmesan dipping sauce.
THAI SALMON FISHCAKE –
Pan seared fishcake made with norwegian salmon and red thai curry paste.
Topped with salmon salad/truffle oil and sweet chillies.
Served with tomato chicken chowder.
A thai classic made with european touch ! The salmon worked beautifully in the dish, Thai lemongrass flavour was spot on…. Tomato chowder with a chicken broth flavour acted as the perfect accompaniment.
MAIN COURSE :-
JOHN DORY –
Pan seared australian fish fillet served with jalapeno crab cream sauce/butter braised baby potatoes and kangkong greens.
The john dory was extremely fresh, a squeeze of lemon uplifted it’s flavour.
The creamy crab sauce was beautifully flavoured with rosemary but the latter did not overpower the dish, natural sweet crabmeat flavour was intact !
SWISS CHILLI POTATO ROSTI –
Cottege cheese gateaux stuffed with zucchini and bell peppers, topped with
potato rosti and tomato salsa.
Served on a bed of roasted pumpkin parmesan sauce.
Cottage cheese along with the fresh crunchy veggies tasted delicious with the creamy sauce, parmesan cheese gave a bold flavour profile to the dish.
BLUE BERRY AND LAVENDER VIENNESE SHORTBREAD –
Shortbread layered with vanilla cream and blue berry compote.
Served with rose petal panacota .
The crispy yet moist shortbread tasted delicious with the creamy vanilla.
The panacota was fabulous, it had a hint of lemon. Superb !!
Overall, Estella was Ecstatic !
It serves irresistible food in a captivating ambiance.
Quality ingredients and skilful cooking techniques at play…..
I was truly amazed by their conceptualisation of each and every dish I had.
Service was warm and courteous .
