Jamjar is a all day diner located at Versova, Mumbai.
The cute cottage style eatery has an old world charm with an indoor-outdoor setup.
It even has a jukebox that plays your favorite music .
The diner serves ‘comfort food’ ; the food we all love eating, it includes international favorites like pizza, pasta, burgers and sandwiches along with soup, salads, appetizers and hearty mains !
Their bar menu is equally elaborate, apart from have a variety of Indian/imported wines and spirits, they have a huge selection of freshly muddled twisted cocktails.
Jamjar is also known for it’s breakfast, it’s available between 9 to 4pm, it includes made to order eggs, pancakes, waffles and smoothie bowls.
So here is what I had –
WATERMELON & BASIL JARGARITAS –
Tequila and triple Sec based cocktail with watermelon/basil and lime .
Served in a jar, the cocktail was fantastic, loved the freshness of watermelon and basil !
CHARRED CORN & JALAPENO –
Corn soup made with roasted corn puree/ jalapenos and ricotta cheese.
Garnished with crispy garlic.
Warm and comforting, loved the richness coming from the ricotta and the crunch from garlic !
ROASTED BEET CARPACCIO –
Vegetarian take on a Italian appetizer !
Roasted beetroot and rocket leaves tossed in a lime vinaigrette dressing.
Garnished with pistachios and goat cheese.
Served with garlic bread
Extremely healthy, the salad had the rich and pungent flavour of goat cheese along with the crunch of pistachios. Fabulous!!
HOT GARLIC PRAWNS –
Prawns tossed in butter along with garlic/green chillies and black pepper.
Garnished with coriander.
Served with buttered pav.
The butter along with a splash of water had become a fabulous seafood broth, so the juicy prawns tasted absolutely delicious in that spicy garlicky sauce !!!
BEER BATTERED SEAFOOD –
Beer batter fried prawns/basa and calamari.
Served with tartar sauce and chilli jam.
The fried seafood had a perfect airy texture, loved the chilli jam as well .
FARM FRESH –
Thin crust pizza topped with sun-dried tomatoes/olives and pesto marinated corn.
TRUFFLED GOAT CHEESE –
Thin crust pizza topped with roasted mushrooms/goat cheese and chives.
Finally drizelled with truffle oil.
The half n half pizza was prepared fresh, hand tossed crust and homemade pizza sauce.
Toppings were adequate and i specially liked the aroma of truffle oil.
CHIMICHURRI CHICKEN –
Grilled chicken breast drizelled with chimichurri sauce, served with grilled veggies.
The chimichurri sauce was a perfect blend of coriander/parsley and basil.
Chicken was cooked to perfection, mild subtle flavours made it delicious.
JJ’S CREAM CHEESE JAR –
A jar filled with fluffy cream cheese/berry compote and cookie crumbs.
A well made cheesecake !
The freshly made berry compote was fantastic, made the cheesecake come to life !
Overall, Jamjar is a fun place to dine !
Their food is absolutely fresh n flavourful as most of the sauces and condiments are made in house, they even bake their own breads !!
