A Bar Called Life is a resto bar located at Juhu, Mumbai.

The bar is a well known party place in this area and it has gained immense popularity in recent times…

It opens in the evening, it’s sober during dinner and it changes into a high energy night club post eleven.

The bar menu is a interesting mix of Indian twisted cocktails along with the usual spirits.

The food menu is a mix of bar nibbles and hearty eats with a dominant Indian influence but they also offer sushies !!

So here is what I had –

COCKTAILS :-

COCOSPRESSO –
Vodka based cocktail with coconut and kahlua coffee liquier.
Strong coffee flavour with a hint of coconut !
Refreshing !!

KACCHI KERI –
Gin based cocktail with raw mango syrup, sprinkled with chat masala.
Tangy mango flavour with bitterness of gin, mildly sweet, Fantastic !!

SALADS :-

POPPING TARBOOZA –
Watermelon topped with feta cheese, garnished with peanuts.
Very nice, fresh watermelon, creamy feta and crunchy texture coming from the peanuts…. Wow !!

CHICKEN TANDRUSTI –
Lettuce and chicken tossed with broccoli/cherry tomatoes/cranberries/flax seeds/melon seeds and walntus in a yogurt based dressing.
Extremely healthy yet delicious, no moyo or oil based dressing was used in the making.
All the ingredients worked in harmony !

BURRATA KADAK RUMALI  –
Crispy rumali roti topped with homemade burrata cheese and tomatoes.
Sprinkled with red chilli and cumin powder.
The rich creamy freshly made cheese tasted delicious with the crispy rumali !!

MAC & CHEESE STICKS –
Macroni and cheese binded with potatoes, crumb fried to perfection.
Served with cool dip.
The croquettes were nice, it had mozzarella cheese oozing out as soon as you bite them, chilli flakes and italian herbs flavoured it well.

PRAWNS GHEE ROAST –
Prawns tossed in ghee with shredded coconut and south indian spices.
The juicy prawns tasted delicious with a dominant flavour of whole spices, garlic and desi ghee….

CHICKEN 65 –
Batter fried chicken/onion and garlic tossed with asian sauces along with mustard seeds and curry leaves.
A well made south indian classic !

MAHI TIKKA –
Ravas marinated with yogurt/mustard and mild indian spices, grilled to perfection.
The fish was tender, mild flavour of mustard made it super delicious !!

PRAWNS TEMPURA MAKI –
Vinegared rice stuffed with tempura batter fried prawns, coated with tempura crumbs.
Garnished with terkiyaki and spicy mayo sauce.
Served with wasabi/gari and soya sauce.
Extremely well made Japanese classic !

HEARTY MEAL :-

GOLI BIRYANI –
Long grained basmati rice layered with minced chicken kofta/mint and brown onions.
The biryani had a beautiful flavour of whole spices and ghee.
The chicken koftas were juicy and went well with the biryani rice.

DESSERT :-

UV’S COOKIE DOUGH ICE CREAM –
Freshly baked chocolate chip muffin, topped with vanilla ice cream.
Garnished with chopped almonds.
So soft n gooey, cool n warm at the same time…..loved it !!!!
Insanely delicious !!!

Overall, I had a great time :))
A bar called life is Lively N Super Fun !!!
It’s wacky name lives up to what it preaches ; “Life is what you make it”
