Indigo is a iconic fine dine restaurant located at Colaba, Mumbai.
Started almost two decades ago, indigo is known for it’s modern european cuisine.
The ambiance too is chic with a old world charm.
It’s crisp short menu includes soup, appetizers, mains and desserts with prominence given to seafood.
So here is what I had –
EXPRESSO MARTINI –
Vodka based cocktail with vanilla and expresso coffee.
Just right, good coffee kick with right amount of sweetness and alcohol.
PUREE OF CARAMALISED CARROT –
Creamy carrot soup with baby carrot/ricotta cheese carrot cake and crisps.
Rich, soothing and comforting !!
INDIGO LOBSTER BISQUE –
Fennel flavoured lobster reduction cream soup with lobster meat/phyllo sponge/capers and milk crisps .
The soup was nice with a dominant flavor of seafood and freshness coming from fennel.
FIRST COURSE :-
FRESH MOZZARELLA AND SUMMER VEGETABLES TART –
Short crust pastry topped with zucchini/asparagus/carrots/beetroot/cherry tomatoes/buffalo mozzarella and balsamic vinaigrette caviars.
Served with house salad.
Loved the crispy yet moist pastry crust tart with the melody of fresh veggies !!
PAN SEARED POPPY CRUSTED SCALLOPS –
Scallops topped with poppy seeds, seared to perfection.
Served with green apple vichyssoise/spiral crispy potatoes/green peas and squid ink crisps .
The scallops tasted delicious with the sour green apple vichyssoise (thick soup).
Green peas gave freshness to the dish.
MAIN COURSE :-
WILD CELERY CHICKEN –
Free range chicken breast, grilled to perfection with radhuni.
Served with potato mash/snow peas/bak choy/scotch egg and pepper jus.
Smokey sweet n peppry flavor made the chicken absolutely delicious.
Long pepper were used in the preparation of the jus that made it distant in it’s flavor.
TANDOORI POMFRET –
Deboned pomfret, stuffed with spinach and garlic, grilled to perfection.
Served with crispy okra/cherry tomatoes and tomato corn stew.
Fresh deboned grilled pomfret !? Fabulous !
Tangy tomato stew with the acidity cut using sweet corn, wow !!
Okra added the much needed crispy texture.
Extremely delicious pomfret!!
CHOCOLATE FOREST –
A forest made with chocolates !!
chocolate marquise/chocolate flakes/chocolate mud/hazelnut crumbs and green couscous.
Served with cherry sorbet.
It was a delight to have the chocolate with the extremely sour berry sorbet, fantastic !!
Overall, indigo is indulgence !!
Each and every dish speaks for itself.
Fresh ingredients are beautifully flavoured with right spices and combinations, resulting in great tasting dishes.
Hospitable service adds to the experience.
It’s rightly the must visit restaurant of Mumbai !
