Mustard House is a bengali cuisine restaurant located at Chakala, Andheri.

The cute small diner serves a variety of authentic bengali delicacies like kathi rolls, kebabs, chops, gravies and biryanis.

Keeping in mind the corporate crowd, Mustard House also serves thalis and meal for one combos.

So here is what I had –

EGG DEVIL –
Boiled egg stuffed with chicken kheema,
crumb fried to perfection.
Served with kasundi dip.
The chicken kheema was flavourful, tasted nice with the crunchy boiled eggs !!

CHICKEN EGG ROLL –
Paratha layered with egg, filled with chicken/onion/capsicum and green chillies.
Served with kasundi.
The refined flour paratha was made using milk and sugar, that made it moist yet crispy, flakey in texture.
The chicken was seasoned with kolkata garam masala and cumin.
These Kolkata rolls were absolutely delicious !!!

FISH FRY –
Bhetki fish fillet coated witth onions and coriander masala, crumb fried to perfection using egg wash and bread crumbs.
Served with kasundi.
The fish was absolutely fresh, coriander seasoning was well balanced. Nice !!

MUGHLAI PARATHA –
Paratha stuffed with minced hand pounded mutton kheema.
Served with aalu sabji.
The mutton had a beautiful cinnamon flavour, Aalu sabji made with onions and green chillies was delicious.

PAN FRIED MOMOS –
Refined flour dumplings stuffed with minced chicken, pan fried using garlic/spring oniins/ kungpao and schezwan sauce.
Spicy zesty momos were really nice, the innovative idea to toss them with chinese sauces was brilliantly executed.

MUTTON KOSHA –
Mutton chunks simmered in a kolkata style onion gravy.
It’s cooked in kadai using mustard oil for three hours and seasoned with whole spices, the cooking makes the mutton really melt in your mouth. Amazing !!!!

CHICKEN BIRYANI –
Kolkata dum biryani made using long grain basmati rice, boiled eggs, brown onions, mawa, desi ghee, dried plums and chicken.
The biryani was seasoned with kolkata biryani masala.
This masala consists of nutmeg/mace/cinnamon/green cardamom/white pepper/shahi jeera and black pepper.
The biryani was very different and unique….
The richness by ghee and mawa was visible.
Loved it !!!

RASGULLA –
Soft spongy delight !!!

Overall, I loved the food !
I’m not an expert in bengali cuisine but what ever I had was extremely flavourful and delicious.
